i read this book in 2 nights losing sleep because it was so good, it kept me wanting to read all night, but i did need to work next day. the best thriller i read in a long time
Lawrence has put together a great quick read with the kind of killer I like a true nut case. Most interesting is the subplot with Lee's father. This is a great, entertaining story.
Another great story in the Lee Campbell series. CE Lawrence continues to shine with a great protagonist and twisting-turning mysteries that keep you guessing until the end. I highly recommend the series to anyone that enjoys a good mystery.
Story was under developed and predictable. Very disappointed in this book. I do not recommend it. It should have been advertised as a novella or short story.
I am not all that familiar with the novella, but enjoyed this book. CE Lawrence knows how to put the reader in the moment by her descriptive use of the surroundings which, of course, ups the suspense. My only other comment is that the brevity of the novella brought me up short. But it's a great escape into the moment if you're short of time and want a good read.

Not like the rest of the series. This VERY short work had none of the twists and turns of the previous books in the series. No character development, and little mystery. Loved the first four, but this one was a disappointment. The author needs to put more effort into the next one or will lose her fans quickly.
I admit it! I have a minor crush on Lee Campbell the brooding protagonist of these novels. Brains and beauty-what's not to like? His humanity helps to mitigate the searing brutality of the killers that he stalks in this and 5 other novels. I read all genres of mystery/crime and am especially taken by the author's use of imagery & scene setting. CE Lawrence paints a vivid (and occasionally gruesome) portrait of New York City and those who populate it. She captures the vibe of NYC and makes it a compelling character in all her novels. As for Lee--he works with his NYPD cohorts to understand what is incomprehensible to most of us--pure evil.
My only complaint is that Silent Stalker is a novella, my least favorite form of fiction. I need more time and pages with this guy to appreciate his compassion and ability to suss out the monsters who prey on the innocent.
